The week marked the one year anniversary of the publication of the National Planning Policy Framework, the Government’s stripped down legislation intended to simplify and speed up the planning system. On publication of the framework last year Local Authorities were given 12 months to put their local plans in place. Now that the transitional period has expired, ministers have reiterated that we will now begin to see the full force of the NPPF and its controversial presumption in favour of development.

Redwood developed commentary on behalf of clients BCSC and DPP One, securing interviews and placing quotes in trade coverage of the anniversary. This proactive approach enabled Redwood to position clients, BCSC and DPP ONE among a small, core set of industry leaders to comment on the milestone and coverage was achieved across a range of key trade publications including Planning, Costar and Retail Gazette.
