Redwood Consulting was appointed by the AJ100 architectural practice John Robertson Architects (JRA) to deliver a media relations programme designed to maintain its status as a leading UK commercial architecture practice, and to publicise its growing exposure to work outside London and the South East. This includes managing regular announcements on key UK projects as well as demonstrating the practice’s expertise through regular thought leadership columns.
Redwood started supporting JRA’s comms at a time when its founder, John Robertson, was taking less of a day-to-day role in the running of the practice. This was a decision which coincided with the appointment of several new directors, the launch of a new studio in Edinburgh, and a growing exposure to projects outside its London base.
JRA projects promoted by Redwood include the refurbishment of a number of prominent heritage buildings in the City of London, including the Northcliffe and 9 Devonshire Square. Both have been repurposed as Grade A office space and were covered by the Architects’ Journal’s (AJ’s) ‘First Look’. Redwood also supported JRA with publicising its design for Bloom on the edge of Clerkenwell’s new media district above Farringdon station, and the creation of Skanska UK’s HQ in Leavesden, Hertfordshire. In addition, Redwood has helped to raise awareness of JRA’s growing body of work in Birmingham (6 Brindleyplace), Manchester (100 Embankment) and Edinburgh (14 Queen Street) as the practice begins to gain wider regional recognition.
Redwood regularly curates and manages opportunities to promote JRA’s technical expertise on key industry issues from compliance monitoring to retrofitting strategies and fire safety legislation, in construction, architecture/design, and investor media channels.
