Communications and stakeholder engagement support

Redwood was appointed by Newcastle City Council in February 2020 to provide communications and stakeholder engagement support for the transformation of Newcastle City Centre. This role includes providing strategic advice and support around various initiatives, including recovery as the city reopens following COVID-19.

Since appointment, Redwood has worked closely with the council’s communications team to deliver a suite of messaging, Q&As and communications strategy to span the lifecycle of the project, running parallel with advice as to how the proposals can aid the city in the wake of Covid-19.

Redwood advises on media activity relating to the proposals, including placing proactive pieces and handling reactive enquiries.

Redwood also advises on stakeholder engagement, including digital strategies for engagement at such a time when we are unable to meet face-to-face. Strategies to reach all audiences – including Councillors, key local businesses and residents have been carefully crafted to make sure all methods of engagement are open to all and will gather feedback to bring proposals forward as a collective. Positioning message and the tone of engagement is even more key at this time with the backdrop of Covid-19.‚Äč
