In a stunning venue on the 39th floor of South Bank Tower, with 360-degree views of London, the Redwood team organised an event to raise awareness of the regeneration works underway to create a new outlet retail quarter and improve the catering offer at Princes Quay, Hull.
The owner of Princes Quay is realigning the offer of the centre by working with leading outlet retail company Realm to create the first outlet / shopping centre hybrid to bring retailers (and thus shoppers) back into the historic heart of the City. This is the first time a partnership of this kind has happened and, if this model works, it could be the much needed remedy for some UK towns and cities to get their retail offer back on track.
Over 70 retail and leisure agents, advisors and industry leaders were in attendance at the event which provided an opportunity for Realm to outline how its location, layout and catchment made Princes Quay the perfect location for an outlet centre. Guests were also given a short overview of the food and beverage scene in the city from JLL Coverpoint’s Jonathan Doughty.
As the UK City of Culture 2017, over £100 million is being invested into both Hull City Centre and Princes Quay itself. When complete, this will create a vibrant new outlet shopping quarter and state of the art music, entertainment and conference venue (adjacent to Princes Quay). The improved public realm and pedestrian access routes will also encourage greater connectivity to the old town and marina.
Redwood has extensive experience in event management, having delivered a range of events for a number of different organisations across the property sector – from showcasing a new state of the art 4G technology system at Tower 42, to managing a media reception to profile M&G Real Estate’s PRS team.
