Working closely with the events team at Shelter, the housing and homelessness charity, and our client Tower 42, Redwood delivered the UK’s first ever tower running event – Vertical Rush.     As well as raising significant funds and awareness for Shelter and providing a signature event that could be an established part of the London sporting calendar, Redwood was also tasked with identifying and securing opportunities to generate high profile publicity for our client, Tower 42, not only in the national media but also within the industry press, specifically Property Week, which Redwood secured as media partner for the event.

On 19 March all of Redwood’s hard work over the previous six months paid off as over 600 contestants took on the challenge over the course of the day.

Redwood’s press team was extremely busy, managing representatives from the print and broadcast media as well as photographers and film crews from PA News, Reuters and even Blue Peter!  However, we still managed to enter three teams into the media category and run (and walk) the knee-shattering 920 steps to the top!

Redwood generated fantastic press coverage before and after the race, which included features and articles in The Times, The Independent, The Guardian, Metro, London Lite, The London Paper, The Financial Times Weekend Magazine and Property Week as well as coverage on BBC Radio 2, BBC Radio London, Sky News, View London and Blue Peter.

The event was a huge success and, as it was announced at the prize giving champagne reception later that evening, raised over £165,000 for Shelter – an amazing achievement for all.TOWER BRIDGE VIEW PHOTO
