This month saw the retail property industry come together to celebrate the Purple Apple Awards, hosted by the British Council of Shopping Centres (BCSC). The awards, which were attended by over 450 people (including the Redwood team), recognise and reward the best shopping and town centre marketing in the UK.

This year, Westfield bagged the coveted BCSC Golden Apple Award, for its ‘Future Fashion’ pop-up which allows shoppers to immerse themselves in the season’s fashion trends using virtual reality technology. In addition to the Golden Apple, eight Purple Apple Awards and 17 Merits were handed out by BCSC Chairman Mark Bourgeois and DJ and TV presenter Edith Bowman. Redwood client Manchester Arndale was amongst the Merit winners.

Edward Cooke, acting Chief Executive, BCSC said: “These inspiring BCSC Purple Apple marketing awards are the most respected retail property marketing accolades in the industry, celebrating individual, team and campaign success. It is a pleasure to see such high calibre entries this year. The winners are testament to the levels of marketing innovation and creativity in our sector, creating and delivering fantastic customer experience at retail destinations across the country.”
