Redwood client, Capital & Regional, owner of the Kingfisher Centre in Redditch, is pleased to announce high footfall and encouraging sales figures over the Christmas season. Festive cheer brought shoppers to the 1 million sq ft shopping centre in their droves, with an extra 8,000 customers visiting the centre over the December period, compared with 2013.
The centre consistently outperformed national benchmarks, as slashed prices in the Boxing Day sales continued to encourage customers in the post-Christmas frenzy. Hundreds of bargain hunters queued up for their favourite stores at 6am, with Debenhams, Primark and recent addition to the Kingfisher, Swarovski, all doing particularly well.
Trading in the Kingfisher’s newly redeveloped £2 million ‘Hub’ also produced great results, with shoppers taking advantage of new restaurants Tinseltown, Real China and Nando’s, as an opportunity to refuel between their Christmas shopping.
Capital & Regional is also investing £2.4 million into Evesham Walk and Worcester Square to create a new fashion zone. A host of new retailers have signed up to join existing stores, including the new Costa Coffee, which has also seen strong sales since it opened before Christmas.
