Redwood recently supported Capital & Regional in the unveiling of its emerging proposals for a major redevelopment of The Mall Walthamstow.
The proposals were displayed at a public exhibition held in the centre providing local people with an opportunity to review and comment on an extensive redevelopment of the existing Mall. If given the go-ahead, the proposals would see over £120 million invested into the area, including an extension of the existing shopping centre to attract new shops and restaurants to the town, along with a new town square and homes.
Alongside the exhibition, a stakeholder engagement programme included workshops for the development of the town square and gardens held with the public, with feedback gathered regarding the features of the new public space. Attendees were asked to give their thoughts on the current space and discuss what features they might like to see there in the future. In total 558 feedback forms were submitted to the project team following the public exhibition and workshops.
If progressed, the proposals would generate significant benefits for the local area, bringing up to 350 permanent new jobs, aspirational shops and restaurants, vibrant public space, a gym and up to 500 new homes to meet growing demand.
Redwood continues to provide Capital & Regional with ongoing communication and PR support for the project.
