Following the approval of its planning application in late November, Hammerson is now set to move forward with the regeneration of the former Tribune Trading Estate site in Rugby. Hammerson now seeks to bring forward investment of £20 million, following its recent £35 million investment in its neighbouring Elliott’s Field Shopping Park.

The proposals, which have the potential to create up to 120 new jobs, were produced to complement rather than compete with the town centre.  They will attract a range of new retailers not currently represented locally and help to retain expenditure within the borough, encouraging spending on other goods and services across the town.

The comprehensive redevelopment of the brownfield site seeks to deliver nine new shops targeting furniture and homeware brands, a new café/restaurant, approximately 500 customer car parking spaces, high quality design and landscaping, and sustainability measures to target the highest BREEAM ‘Outstanding’ rating.

Redwood provided Hammerson with public consultation and stakeholder engagement support throughout the applications for the former Tribune Trading Estate site and for Elliott’s Field Shopping Park.
