Redwood has this week announced the appointment of Chris Taylor as Chief Executive Officer of Hermes Real Estate Investment Management Limited, to the property and national press.  Hermes Real Estate is one of the largest real estate managers in the UK, with over £5.8 billion* of gross assets under management.

Chris joins Hermes from Australian-based global fund manager QIC where he was Head of European Property for the past four years.  Prior to this, he spent a year at HSBC Specialist Investments as Director – Head of European Property and has had an extensive career in property fund management at Prudential UK.

This announcement marked the end of a three-year search for the best person for the role; which is one of the most prestigious in UK property fund management. Accordingly, the news generated a great amount of interest in the press, and Redwood worked closely with Hermes’ corporate PR team and Chris Taylor to deliver an exclusive front-page story in Property Week followed by a roll out of the announcement to wider property, national and investor press. Blanket positive coverage was secured and requests have been recorded for interviews once Chris is in place at Hermes after October.

Chris Taylor comments: “I’ve always wanted to be a head of one of the big fund managers. Hermes’ brand and reputation are impressive and I am excited to bring my expertise across a broad range of property markets from three major organisations with global real estate platforms.  I see great potential to further grow the Hermes real estate business and support the group’s burgeoning global reputation as a leader in the pension fund sector in both investment performance and quality of service.”
