Last week, a team of five from Redwood travelled up to Manchester for the annual BCSC conference.

The mood at this year’s event was upbeat but far from frivolous, with introductions and networking proving an ever useful tool for all, and drinks and networking balanced carefully with hushed business meetings and negotiations.

The Redwood team took the opportunity to introduce a number of clients to key journalists and other contacts in the industry and was delighted to attend talks made by Alistair Shaw of Stanhope on the Localism agenda and its impact on retail development and Stuart Laidlaw of Capital & Regional on sustainability, as well as a selection of other conference sessions.

Redwood’s annual BCSC client dinner, this year held at Gaucho, was well attended by representatives from Delancey, DPP, PRUPIM, Lunson Mitchenall, McLaren, Landaid, Catalyst Capital, MMX Retail, Capital & Regional and Wereldhave, amongst others.

Debates and discussions flowed as freely as the wine, and the evening concluded with drinks and dancing in a nearby bar.

The team is already looking forward to next year’s event in Liverpool on 10, 11 and 12 September 2012.
