Hermes Real Estate announced this week the purchase of its outstanding 50% stakes in Castlecourt, Belfast, Royal Victoria Place, Tunbridge Wells and The Friary, Guildford. The Shopping Centres have historically been owned in a 50/50 JV with Westfield.

Redwood worked with Hermes and Westfield to agree a robust press plan to announce the deal exchange on 14 February, arranging exclusive briefings with the Financial Times and Property Week, using pre agreed statements and Q+As.

Coverage of the deal subsequently appeared on 15 February, carefully timed to coincide with Westfield’s own results announcement on the Australian Stock Exchange. The press statement was then distributed to international, institutional and trade press on a reactive basis, generating further widespread media column inches.
