With homes now being made in Ruskin Square’s first residential building, Redwood continues to provide communications support as other occupiers move into the nine-acre development, adjacent to East Croydon Station, which is being developed by Schroder UK Real Estate Fund (‘SREF’) and its partner Stanhope Plc.
In August of this year, SREF and Stanhope confirmed that a landmark deal had been agreed with HM Revenue and Customs (‘HMRC’) for the government department to take the entire 180,000 sq ft at One Ruskin Square – the first Grade A commercial building at the £500 million Ruskin Square scheme – on a 25-year lease.
With the practical completion of One Ruskin Square confirmed, HMRC will now commence with internal fit out works before staff move into the building in early 2017.
Redwood has been working closely with SREF and Stanhope since construction began at Ruskin Square to deliver regular updates on the development. Just this year, Redwood has helped to announce several significant milestones at Ruskin Square, including the completion of the Vita residential building, consent for the 250,000 sq ft second office building and Boxpark Croydon opening its doors at the end of October with an evening of live music and street food, to much acclaim.
Ruskin Square will provide Croydon with five new office buildings, 625 new homes, shops and restaurants, and attractive new outdoor public space, alongside Boxpark Croydon.
