Redwood joined a raft of property daredevils last month, to scale the side of the 539ft tower Broadgate Tower, for pro-bono client LandAid – the property industry charity.
The event was part of the inaugural LandAid TowerAthlon, sponsored by Savills, where over 200 competitors undertook a physical challenge, raising £30,000 for disadvantaged young people in the UK . From abseiling down the 35 storey tower, to running up 877 stairs or competing in a 10 minute sprint cycle at Broadgate Plaza, participants tested their speed, strength and courage.
Winners on the day included Rupert Parker of GVA, who covered 10.3km in 10 minutes, and Nathan Pask, also of GVA, who ran up the tower in 4 minutes 44 seconds.
Overall team winners were GVA’s Bilfinger Boys, closely followed by runners up TFT Team Green of Tuffin Ferraby Taylor and Chancerygate in third place. All proceeds from the London TowerAthlon will be split jointly between LandAid, the property industry charity, and the Worshipful Company of Chartered Surveyors.
