Once again, our team headed to Cannes for a meeting of minds with the ‘Who’s Who’ of the retail property industry – a large number of whom we are privileged to call clients – as well as the international property and business media at MAPIC 2014.
The mood at the conference was very positive with representatives from the UK and Continental Europe showcasing increasing activity and positive market sentiment. Whilst Russia was still a force to be reckoned with, there were also noticeably more property players from the African markets promoting their work and developments at the Palais. Meanwhile, the continued shift towards major City Centre development was as much a topic at the conference’s networking ‘get-togethers’ as the increasing interest from US brands entering the European market.
Redwood’s clients including AMF Fastigheter, Leslie Jones, BCSC, TH Real Estate and Lunson Mitchenall all had a very busy conference schedule, and with over 100 international journalists attending MAPIC the social media channels were buzzing with news on market trends and new developments. When it was finally time to say ‘good bye Côte d’Azur’ everyone seemed very pleased with the week and already looking ahead to the next big event in the property calendar – MIPIM 2015.
